On the morning of December 29th, 2006, structure project of main building of television and culture center, Lot B of New CCTV Headquarters, was completed. When the project is completed, it will take the responsibility of making and re-transmitting TV programs for Beijing Olympics in 2008.
Lot B of CCTV new location is invested by CCTV. The project is situated in Beijing CBD with a total building area more than 100000 m2 and a height near 160 m.
TVCC building mainly has two functions i.e. five-star luxury hotel and CCTV television & culture center. The hotel is placed in TVCC main building where medium and journalists throughout the world will stay during Beijing 2008 Olympics. Television and culture center is placed in the podium building that includes all recording studios & control rooms, the theatre with 1500 seats & auxiliary service rooms, digital cinema, multifunction hall & digital transmitter room, press conference hall and exhibition hall etc.
