After the Phoenix TV had signed the strategic cooperative letter of intent with Chaoyang District, on April 28, three media magnates, the Asia Media Forum, the Charm Communication Group, and the NUCOM Media Group International Co., Ltd. officially signed the agreement with the Oriental Media Centre and move into Beijing CBD.
Through several years¡¯ plan and construction, the coordinative service system of Beijing CBD has been gradually perfected, and has formed the basic pattern of industrial development that takes international financial industry as the main item, and the concentrative development of cultural innovation industry and the modern service industry as the dominant position. Among them, the development of cultural innovation industry has obvious regional superiority and huge development space, which has become one of the six high-end industry function areas and the gathering place of cultural innovation industry in Beijing during the 11th Five-Year Plan. At present, there have been nearly a thousand cultural media units gathering in Beijing CBD and its surrounding areas, and the total income of cultural media industry is nearly RMB 19 billion yuan. 167 international news organization stationed in China are gathering here, including famous international media organizations such as CNN, VOA, BBC, Viacom Inc, and Wall Street Journal, etc. China¡¯s most authoritative national-level newspaper "People's Daily" and an important regional daily newspaper "Beijing Youth Daily", the most influential national-level TV station of China----CCTV Station and two important regional TV institutions -----BTV Station, the Phoenix TV, and the three biggest Chinese internet gateway websites----Sina.com, Sohu.com and NetEase.com are all situated in CBD and around. Several thousand upper- & lower-level enterprises that surround these organizations will unceasingly follow up to form the scale effect, and develop into the huge cultural innovation industry chain. At the same time, such higher education colleges and universities as the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University, the Communication University of China, the Capital University of Economics and Business and so on are all situated this District, forming broad cultural creativity and the economical talent resources bank, which has accomplished inexhaustible creativity source for the cultural innovation industry congenitally. A series of key projects in Beijing CBD have also provided full spatial carrier for the development of cultural innovation industry, which will gather international & domestic media industries and form the service center for media enterprises on the chain of cultural innovation industry, the information exchange center in media industry, the film and television product transaction center and the media talent exchange center.
