Ceremony Celebrating the Upgrading of Bangkok Bank Beijing as a Branch Bank

July 1, Chen Gang, the Chief Director of Chaoyang District, was invited to a ceremony celebrating the upgrading of Bangkok Bank Beijing at Xinhua Insurance Plaza, Beijing CBD. The ceremony was hosted by Thaksin Shinawatra, the Prime Minister of Thailand. Liu Ming Kang, the Chairman of China Banking Regulatory Commission, and other leaders of industrial regulatory departments also participated in the ceremony.
Bangkok Bank is the largest commercial bank in Thailand. It has an asset of 35 billion USD, 18,000 employees, and 690 branches in the world. The net profit of the bank was 440.5 million USD in 2004. Bangkok Bank has established branch banks in Shantou, Shanghai, and Xiamen. The upgrading of Bangkok Bank Beijing and its location in CBD will promote the gathering of financial industries in Beijing CBD.
