On January 24th, Marsh Inc. got the first business license for wholly foreign-funded insurance agent in Chinese Mainland. The content of the license is in line with the commitment of opening up insurance industry to foreign-funded enterprises after China's entry to the WTO.
According to the license content that are checked and approved, the business scope of Marsh China will be further expanded on the basis of present risk consultation service. It can engage in various insurance agent businesses around the country, including large-scale business insurance, reinsurance, international ocean shipping, aviation and transportation insurance etc.
Mr. Brian Storms, Marsh Global¡¯s Chairman and CEO, says that Marsh has been regarding China as a very important market for its global operation network, and will continue using Textron¡¯s global resources to offer support and service to its development of Chinese market in the future.
