Recently, HSBC has opened its third Branch in Beijing¡ªHSBC Lufthansa Branch. As shown in the photo, Zheng Haiquan, Chairman of HSBC (second from right), and Chen Gang (first from left), Director of Chaoyang District of Beijing city cut the ribbon at the Opening Ceremony.
With the final transition period of WTO is to be over, foreign-funded banks are speeding up their development in China. Recently, HSBC has set up 26 service branches in the Chinese mainland. Weng Fuze, President of Chinese Region of HSBC indicated that HSBC would give priorities to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen to develop individual financial services. Ye Yangshi, President of Chinese Region of another foreign-funded bank, Standard Chartered Bank, indicated that the Standard Chartered Bank would give priorities to the above-mentioned four cities as well. The Standard Chartered Bank set up its branch in Zhong Guancun, another key area in Beijing last Friday, and also opened a branch in the Lufthansa in last winter.
