A press conference for 2nd Beijing International Finance Expo (2006BIFE) was held in Beijing on Oct. 10th, 2006, announcing founding of Media Union for Beijing International Finance Expo at the same time.
Mr. Huo Xuewen, vice director of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Beijing, gave a theme address in the press conference. In the speech, he said that 2006BIFE is an annual grand meeting in the capital city for finance industry. He pointed out that 2006BIFE will play an important role in promoting economy development and forming customer foundation for financial market in Beijing.
It was said that 2nd Beijing International Finance Expo would be held in Beijing Exhibition Center from Nov. 7th to 10th.Authorized by Beijing Municipal Government, 2006BIFE was an international fair for exhibiting financial products, promoting projects for investment, developing international financial cooperation. It was co-sponsored by Beijing Association of Banks, The Securities Association of Beijing, Beijing Insurance Association, Beijing Financial Street Chamber of Commerce, Beijing CBD Chamber of Finance, Beijing Zhongguancun Financial Innovation Chamber and Beijing Property Right Exchange. 2006BIFE was also advised and supported by Operation and Management Department of People's Bank of China, Banking Regulatory Bureau of Beijing Municipality, Securities Regulatory Bureau of Beijing, Insurance Regulatory Bureau of Beijing Development and Reform Commission of Beijing Municipality, Beijing Finance Bureau, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Beijing Municipality, Xicheng District Government, Chaoyang District Government, and Haidian District Government.
In 2006BIFE, there will be some important innovations in the aspect of exhibits, audience organization, activity planning, media publicity, etc. INVESTING, FINANCING AND MONEY MANAGEMENT will be the theme of 2006BIFE. Exhibition, high-level forum, project promotion, money management courses will be the main activities so as to show the "hot points"in economic development, to introduce projects for financing or investing. The purposes of 2006BIFE are: Firstly, building a comprehensive financial platform for financial organization, company and citizen; Secondly, establishing an exchange platform for investment and financing projects as bridge linking capital for financial organization, regional economic governors, entrepreneur, investor and oversea investment organization. Total exhibition area of 2006BIFE will be up to 23000 sqm, doubled the scale of 2005. First Beijing International Finance Expo held in last September successfully. Mr. Liu Qi, member of Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, and Mr. Zhou Xiaochuan, president of People?s Bank of China, attended the opening ceremony and gave important addresses. Mr. William Rutledge, executive vice president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Mr. Tang Shuangning, vice chairman of China Banking Regulatory Commission, Mr. Zhuang Xinyi, vice chairman of China Securities Regulatory Committee, and Mr. Zhou Yanli, vice chairman of China Insurance Supervision Commission, visited the exhibition and appraised it with high value. Total exhibition area of First Beijing International Finance Expo was over 10000 spm, with more than 430 exhibition stands and more than 3000 financial products. In First Beijing International Finance Expo, there were more than 83 financial organizations as exhibitor, more than 172000 visitors and more than 100 famous medias both from home and abroad gave full cover of the Expo. First Beijing International Finance Expo was welcomed by financial organizations, companies and citizens, and a forceful drive for optimizing domestic financial and investment environment, and upgrading market-based financial services.
