Chaoyang District plans to build, rebuild and expand 175 roads in this year. Construction of 26 roads for stadiums and gyms for the Olympic Games will be started. Among roads around gyms for Games of the World'S Youths, Qingnian Road, Pingfang West Road, Chaoyang Park West Road and Chaoyang Gym East Road will be completed by the end of June.
Construction of 23 artery roads will be started The 175 roads to be built, rebuilt and expanded in Chaoyang District cover total length of 210km and the budget for the whole project will be around 3 billion Yuan. The project consist of 14 artery roads including the road connecting north corner and east corner of Beijing and Futong Avenue, and 9 secondary roads including Pingfang West Road and Jianhua South Road. According to the Construction Program, the first phase of Liangmahe North Road, the road connecting north corner and east corner of Beijing, Tonghuihe North Road, Qingnian Road, Yaojiayuan Flyover, Sifang Bridge Flyover, Chaoyang Park West Road and Chaoyang Gym East Road will be completed in July.
In addition, construction of 42 roads including 23 artery roads such as Northern Extension of Beiyuan Road, Lincui Road, and 19 secondary roads such as Thermo Power Plant North Road, Zhenzhi Road, will be started within 2006. Currently pre-phase preparations for most roads have been finished.
Four roads for Olympic Gyms will be completed by the end of June Construction of 26 Olympic Gym Roads will be started within 2006 and 10 among them will be completed within the year. Among roads around gyms for Games of the World'S Youths, Qingnian Road, Pingfang West Road, Chaoyang Park West Road and Chaoyang Gym East Road will be completed by the end of June. Construction of Gongti South Road and Programmed No. 2 Gongti Road will be started in 2007.
