The Standard Chartered Bank Beijing Lufthansa Center Branch set up on February 17, which indicates the further expansion of personal bank business of the Standard Chartered Bank in China and their dedication to become the leading foreign bank in China. Mr. Chen Gang, chief executive of Chaoyang District, was present in the branch opening ceremony.
Mr. Chen expressed his congratulations in the ceremony, pointing that the set up of the Standard Chartered Bank Lufthansa Center Branch is a new milestone for Chaoyang District to develop its international financial industry; and Chaoyang District Committee will provide higher-quality service to investors and will further speed up regional economic construction and development of Chaoyang District.
The newly-opened Lufthansa Center Branch is the first branch that foreign banks set up in Beijing in 2006. It abuts on CBD and Embassies District. The Standard Chartered Bank set up Beijing Representative Office in 1982, which upgraded to Branch in 1998. The Standard Chartered Bank fully started up personal bank business in Beijing in May 2005.
