In the recent years, due to the impact of overall trends of FDI by multinational corporations shifting towards the tertiary industry and the further acceleration of the opening process of China¡¯s financial industry to the outside world upon China¡¯s accession to the WTO, foreign investment in the China¡¯s financial industry has obviously been sped up. 1. China¡¯s financial industry has gradually become a sector in which multinational corporations are more willing to invest. 2. Foreign-invested banks are mainly distributed in the medium and large-sized cities along China¡¯s coastal areas, while foreign-invested insurance institutions are of more wider deployment. 3. Foreign-invested financial institutions are strongly competitive with quicker business development. 4. Share participation and M&A have already become the main forms for foreign financial institutions to enter the Chinese market. 5. The trend of localization of foreign-invested financial institutions is increasingly enhanced.
